The Lucky Few Foundation is hitting the road this summer!
The Lucky Few Foundation’s project, This Is Down Syndrome, will be hosting Storytelling Gatherings across the country, enabling nearly 50 people with Down syndrome, their families, friends, co-workers, neighbors and community members to share their stories about Down syndrome with the world.
How a Storytelling Gathering Works
The Avises will host a series of storytelling gatherings in five states.
Each gathering includes a meet-and-greet dinner for participating families to connect with each other and the Avises, followed by a professional photoshoot the next day and a storytelling coaching session with Heather.
All content is professionally edited and featured on social media and on The Lucky Few Foundation’s website, creating an archive of the stories of everyday people with Down syndrome and those closest to them.
Five States in Five Weeks. One Goal:
to capture real, diverse and inclusive stories; stories that get real people having real conversations. Changing hearts and minds and shifting narratives to strengthen our collective humanity creates a world where everyone belongs.
The Lucky Few Foundation is looking for photographers, donors and corporate sponsors to pull off our first-ever national storytelling tour! Do you know someone who could help? With the support of this community and its network, we can strengthen humanity, shift harmful narratives and help us tell the diverse, good and true Down syndrome story.
